Oh god no. It is afantastic drive, it's weird (I like Weird :), and it lasts almost foreever.

The clutch is directly behind the radiator while the timing chain/case is next to the bulkhead below the windscreen. Thinking being that you will change a lot more clutches than timing chains so you should be able to get to it easier.

Having the box below the engine makes it a little higher, but means all the weight is concentrated directly over the drive, and also being inline means you can equal length driveshafts.

Add in double wishbones at the front and you get a pretty sweet front end.

Where else do you reckon I could have found a reliable 185BHP with MOT, leccy windows, mirrors and sunroof, seats 5 large adults easily, cruises at all legal limits without breaking sweat fully loaded, has a large enough boot to take almost anything you fancy but isn't an estate, has a faster 50-70 and 70-100 time in 4th and 5th than a Ferrari 328GTB and has a rudimentary electical, adjustable boost controller that can be tweaked by adjusting the pots, and if necessary modded using a soldering iron and a couple of resistors for £300. Not impossible, but it would have been a bit tricky.

There is a book entitled "maximum boost" by Corky Bell which makes very good reading on understanding, modd-ing and designing your own turbo system- very good. Am sure Amazon would have it.
