Just cleaned out the PCV at the weekend.

After fighting to remove the baffle that acts as a flame trap, it was like the bottom of a scabby chipshop fryer.

I wonder now, if the PCV being blocked is what is causing it to piss oil from everywhere including I think the dipstick hole.

Most likely. Or it could be a bust ring, or worse! Or the bust ring might be the cause of the scabby chip shop fryer effect!

Possibly, but this were real fine crushable (like really badly cooked/sludged oil) crystals, not metal shaving. the rest of the cover outside the baffles was just stained brown by being cooked with oil.

Simple setup.

No one way valve, just a baffle with 2 strainers and 2 very small holes into it through the strainers. That leads out through a plain pipe into the intake pre turbo. It uses the turbo spooling to suck the gases/vapour out. On the Saab it was routed back to the manifold, post turbo, but had a one way valve.

They are prone to breaking the ring lands if the boost is turned up above what the ECU map can handle without an additional fuel computer. But that has never been above stock boost. And I've only got it at 10PSI now. It was losing oil well before then.
