I used them everywhere I felt that needed them.
The interiors are easy. The side/parking lights were previously ancient and blackened wedge bases - almost anything would have been an improvement. For the brake light, I was interested in getting a faster response - which only needed one of the 3.
For indicators, I really can't see a disadvantage with the OEM incandescents. Those aren't broke, so I didn't fix them.
