More Alternator related shenanigans.

Seeing as i were reading fishmans problems thought i might as well pick the UKRCM collective brains on my problems.

Cavvy had a nasty fire moment a few months back, conclusion was that the alternator had went dolally and overvolted and fried a few things. alternator was duly replaced with a few bits and bobs that were a tad burnt and singed. and the car is running perfectly again(well bar the dodgy idle control valve)

problem is that the car now point blank refuses to hot start. any thoughts on my alternator problem frying battery/starters etc????

I wouldnt think its related if it runs properly when hot other than starting. You might check for leaky injector(s), faulty engine temp sensor?

Soz should have phrased that better, The cav refuses to turn over when hot will start fine with a bump :)

so the starter sticks when it gets hot and frees when its cool? Sound possible?
