Nice little run

UKRM party, everyone had lots to drink. She fell asleep on the sofa in a mate's conservatory between a couple of mates who'd had too much to drink.

I went to check up on her, but, from her drunken slumber, she launched a rather heavy right hook in my direction. The result of which was that I had broken glasses, a nice cut above one eye and was rather dazed for the next half hour.

PMSL, quality. I've had a handbag to the groin once, but nothing quite so violent as a bunch of female fives! :)

To this day, she swears she can't remember doing it.

That's worrying.

Pepperpot - only a fast side-step stopped it contacting with my head and flying straight through one of the small glass panels in the door I was stood by - making a perfect round hole on its way through.

Looks like the front suspension is sitting too high to me.

I need to look into that - it appears the second hand rear shocks and springs have lowered it a tad. I'll have to find the instructions for lowering the torsion bar on the front and give them to my mechanic.

Christ almighty. Thrown by your missus? Oh, hold on. We're not talking about the XR2 alloy wheel here are we? :$

you have to tell your mechanic how to fix cars now? oO

Fair enough. I take by Subaru to a specialist who can do stuff in 1/2 the time of a normal mechanic. He can drop gearboxes in his sleep. He probably charges about $15 an hour more but he more than makes up for it in lost time. He also is about 15 minutes away from my house which helps.

If your mechanic can't adjust a torsion bar, get a new mechanic.

It's not quite as simple as that - it appears there's 6 different adjustments you can make - 4 sets of splines plus 2 different mounting points.

Unless you know how it all works you'll struggle to get the size of the drop right.

I've done some reading on this now - quite a lot of people reckon I should leave it alone. OK, it looks a bit odd, but, in terms of the way the car handles, it helps stick the arse end to the road.
