I would love a G-wagon, but there are only two for sale near me. =A35k for an 89, or =A335k for a 99.
And the interior on the early ones does look a little bit like a Chav's=20 Breakfast.

Yay, an owner who has driven such a mythical beast turns up. And gives some good and bad points.
I think I need a lie down.
But you have to consider that he's an Australian and technical progress in car design sort of passed them by, meaning their home-market products are still stuck in 1984 and therefore consider late 90s Korean metal to be the bleeding edge of technology.
This from a guy who thinks Alfas are great cars. Lol @ the irony. Australian cars are pretty much like American cars but a bit less shit. Most of the cars on the road here are Japanese. Especially the 4x4s. Fortunately we don't get much French or Italian shit foisted upon us but as a trade-off we do get a bunch of Korean shit intead.

*Really* naff plasticky plastic interior, noisy, the worst handling you have ever experienced and then some, ride that would make a wheelbarrow feel like bliss, and parts...well, where are you going to get them from?
Indeed the engines are made under license, but dont let that fool you.
Tim..
No, its not actually a MB engine at all- its a copy, in the same way Indians have copied the Lister stationary engines.
Very few MB parts actually fit it, and the whole thing is uses much lower quality parts.
Tim..
Bullshit. Mine had Mercedes stickers all over it and when the waterpump went it was cheaper to get one off Merc than Ssang Yong.

Nope, they went bust. First they closed Warrington. The went into liquidation. A mate of mine and Skoda nut was in their parts desk in Warrington and then in Wigan when Warrington shut. Laid off everyone except the Accounts dept whe were kept on to work with the administrators.. He went to Pig Ugly (Claybank Motors Eccles) on their service desk. He couldn't stick their aftersales policy (we've had your money now f*ck off), so he works for Stratstone Porsche and gets to ferry 911s back to their owners after they have been picked up and serviced. And he plays with rear engined cars professionally again now.
As it happens, it a the local Kia/Suzuki franchisees (Chapelhouse I thing) who have the wigan Skoda Franchise, but not in Warrington.

It is a capable workhorse in the same way that the Lada Niva was.
Oh right, I wasn't aware of the back story. I think I know they guy you mean on the parts desk. Before that place, the Mr Clutch on thingy road used to be the Skoda garage, they were ace, the mechanics there were really good. I sometimes wonder what happened to them.
LMAO i'd love something yank one day, s**te interior big V8 mmmm think i hate here are s**te daewoo/chevvy's and s**te french bollocks like renaults and peugeots! yuck
sadly where i work we sell all the above so sometimes i have to go to nissan and treat my eyes to a nismo kitted 350Z or go the mitsi and see if there's an evo in service for a quick perv. or i go silly and see if there's anything come off leasing with an AMG badge :)
I saw a 90s looking estate car in Melbourne. I think it might have been a Ford Fairlane. I nearly fell over when I saw the cart springs under the arse end...
