Opel / Vauxhall Mervia Mini-Review

To be accurate, a Meriva 1.3 CDTi - no idea of the trim level, though.

Summary: Pointless.

Fuuuuuck.

For once, we agree.

They are hateful things. Pointless doesn't come close. It's like whoever designed it hates everyone who's ever enjoyed driving.

Unless you're a pensioner who really wanted a Corsa but the Meriva with its high seating position is kinder to your dodgy hip. (In spite of what the adverts would have you believe.)

That's who has them around here anyway, so not for me, but not totally pointless either.

They look like they have no boot space, it that right?

It was big enough for 2 large sized kit bags and 2 hand-luggage sized rucksacks.

Reasonable, by supermini standards, but not exceptional.

Not really 'clever family car' though, by the sounds of things.

Saw a VXR one in Lytham a couple of days back, incidentally.

I thought it was reasonably large. It's not a super mini. A Ka is a supermini, and you can get about 4 bags of shopping in one of them...

A VXR Meriva.

FFS!

Are you sure? - I've seen VXR Zafiras, but not Merivas.

In a Meriva?

As in, the Corsa for people in hats?

Very odd.

It's a tall Corsa.

A Ka is a 'mini', though.

Yup, he's sure. 180 bhp or thereabouts.
