Or it had just found me. Going to work today, and taking 2.5 hours to get out of Warrington=20 thanks to Thelwall being closed, all of a sudden the the climate control=20 throws a wobble, and pumps full heat air into the cabin at maximum fan=20 speed (Close to sitting next to a flat out hairdrier). At the that point=20 the temp gauge had just ridden a touch above normal after being sat in=20 traffic in 1st, and near stationary for over an hour. I thought maybe it was some kind of emergency cooling thing and would=20 kick back out once onto the M56.=20
I supposed in a country where -40 temps are common in winter,=20 overwarming the occupants in an emergency is a better idea than leaving=20 them huddled in a snow drift while the engine blows steam and cools=20 down.
On auto I had no control of fan speed or temp. On econ, I had control of=20 fan speed but not temperature. It didn't.=20 Coming home it was ok until we hit traffic again, and it bloody did it=20 again, even though we were just slow and only for 10 minutes. Quick check of the usual forums to see what was said and it ranged from=20 =A330 for a sensor to about =A380 for a control module to =A3200 for the ac= c=20 control unit front end. Bugger, then I saw something about cleaning the interior temp sensor and=20 recalibrating the unit.
Quick clean made no difference, it still wanted to run like a blast=20 furnace. Recalibrating (twice as per Saab recomendations) worked though.=20 It tests all the flaps and fitting and blowers, reports any error codes (none) then tries to operate all again after resetting.
Now I have nice cold temps(and hot when I want) and a much more=20 controllable acc system them even when I first got it.
