OT: Decent driving roads up north

There's a place called Happy Valley just south of Coulsdon (between Croydon and the M25). Not that amusing really. Sorry.

Of course Somerset has everybody beat at this game - Curry Mallet, Queen Camel, and that's the sane end.

As a child I lived in a Leicestershire village called Newton Burgoland, which is just down the road from Barton in the Beans.

The bit from Ribblehead to Hawes is part of the Ingleton road. And yes, it is awesome :-D

Is it still gated? I've done that run in all my cars apart from the current one (yet).

Some cracking roads there, I was up that way in the Locost on Sunday. My Christmas thermals helped a bit, but was uncomforatably cold after a couple of hours.

I used to camp under the Ribblehead viaduct years ago, memorable nights :)
