Well after Vamp said he liked his K750i I took the plunge instead of waiting for the D600 Samsung, I swore I would never get another SE phone, but this has amazed me :)

The Camera quality is great, no longer do you need to take with you a digi cam, and with a Memory Stick you can whack a GB straight into it, so it's like an IPOD/PHONE/CAM all in one :) and you can now assign MP3's to Text ringtones, something the K700i could not do :)

Fast USB2 data transfer is also a bonus, and it charges from the USB slot, all in all a top phone....

On a side note, Royal mail drove into my car recently while parked and Audi are fitting a nice new bumper :) my old bumper had quite a few stone chips so not all accidents are a PITA.

Cheers Vamp for the heads up on the 750i, now off to ebay for a 512mb memory card...

Ebuyer.com is worth a look for memory cards, similar price to eBay but they usually give free shipping on them.

Cheers for that Ronny. I'm due a new 'phone soon and am basically looking at the two you mention. I swore I wouldn't get another SE after this POS K700i.....but I'll try for a K750 I think...

Obviously taken with the 750i, I have never seen a better cam phone tbh.

What was up with your K700i? I thought mine was pretty good. My g/f just got the K750i and, as far as I could see, it was virtually identical to the K700i in terms of operation - it just has a much better camera and a memory stick slot. I decided to upgrade to a P910i instead.. bloody great phone, bit big, but I need a PDA and this seems to do the job pretty well, although the camera is total crap compared to the 750i

:D

Chris.

Jeez, that's fantastic. Camera isn't *that* important for me, but would be nice to have something that can produce quality like that.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, I am still playing with it, so that was on normal setting, although I cannot tell much of a difference on Fine setting.

Everyone has been complaining that Vodafone don't let you assign MP3's to ringtones, but it looks like they have fixed this now, as I have tried 10 ringtones, I have also downloaded a 30 min episode of "Family Guy" and watched it on the phone, and it just gets better and better.

Gotta love the Cockerel cartoon that comes as default :)

My S700i takes brilliant photos. I was surprised to see on TV the other night they gave 3 digital cameras to professional photographers to use. One was the S700i so they must rate it's camera.

I was toying with the idea of a 6380 Nokia, but I really wanted the 2MP Camera of the 750i, I can now go on holiday and take great pics. I hate having to carry a camera and a phone around with me.

The K700i is a great phone, but let down but piss poor software, the 750i has the ability to auto update the software as the phone comes with a USB data cable, the menu seems smoother, I can assign my own tones to text messages and the phone is a free upgrade.

After using my K700i on holiday and listening to the radio every day while at the pool, I came to the conclusion that it was a damn good phone, and after speaking to vamp and a reading a few reviews chose the 750i, I will buy a lead to go into the car and you can then use it like an IPOD.

I have also dropped my k700i quite a few times, and it still works.

glad you like it. love my K750i! i wanted something to replace my big ass P800 which i also loved loads. that's a well good pic you got out of it, not taken a good pic in good daylight. have you used the light on the back in torch mode in the dark? shines well far! was well handy the night i dropped my keys one night that hehe.

i got loads of MP3's and vids on my 512mb card i got for it and it's only just over half full hehe.

Same here. Dropped it, thrown it when I got in a temper and it developed a mystery dent after a particularly drunken night! Still works. You can also update the software on the K700i, but of course you have to actually buy the data cable. It's good of Sony Ericsson to supply the data cable with the K750i - I had to buy one for my K700i only to be told that I was barred from updating my software by my operator (o2). Weird! I definately would have got the K750i had I not been tempted by touchscreen symbian stuff. I can still use my K700 when I want a small phone, and I've got this great expensive SLR camera I always take with me when I want to photograph things One really bizarre fault I have found with all Ericsson's I've ever owned (maybe it's me and dropping/throwing them, although I remember being much more careful with my other phones, and less stressed during their ownership) is that they all developed a 'network busy' fault. My Ericsson A1018s, my T68 and T68i ALL eventually ceased being able to make calls. They would report having a signal, but dialling would give a beeping noise and anyone calling would be unable to get through. Even my K700i started doing it for a while, but bizarrely it seemed to have fixed itself in the weeks before I switched to the P910i. A few years back I read that all Ericsson's had a transmitter fault, but I'd be very surprised if they still have the same problem now.

Chris.
