Well if it wasnt for the wheelchair I now suffer I would buy it! I have a home made small one and a Gas turbine starter from a phantom converted to thrust to power a wheelchair / kart here!

Imagine trying to declare that on your insurance "It's got 2 General electric T-58 turbines", "Is in an electric car?", "No they are turbines", "Oh its an MR2 turbo is that factory?", "Err,, Ok yes"

or "has it been modified in anyway?"

Something hints to me that it might not be road legal...

Why? Other turbine cars have. Have a look at the rover T2,3 and 4 models. Were road legal for testing, almost made it into production, but the P6 V8 came along.

They were turbine cars as in shaft driven, the MR2 in question is driven by the exhaust thrust...

Thats true. Mind you, not legal over here, doesn't necessarily mean not road legal anywhere else, especially in the US. Imagine the Cal State emissions test. Yes, Mr BlahBlah. It did pass the exhaust emissions at the necessary engine rev levels. I shall however be suing for my lost eyebrows.

Believe me this one is road legal! Has an MOT, road tax and everything (also powered by a diesel golf engine for road use)
