OTish - Micra trouble

Hmm the most reliable car ever...

Not truly modifications I know but a remedy will definitely make it perform better!

It sometimes cuts out when idling and then won't start again for ages! Great fun at traffic lights or a busy junction.

Also, misfires under load.

I'm thinking fuelling problems? Or leaky/sticking valves?

1986 model 1 litre with auto choke.

Any ideas chaps?

Takes the piss how long this took to appear on the news server.

Fuel pump, or maybe fuel filter? If it's an electric pump, it might starting to seize, and need more output from the alternator, or if it is a clogged filter, it might need more effort to get the fuel though.

Is it carb or injection?

Interesting - I never got that post. Teranews are normally pretty good too.

When was it last serviced ?

*Full* service, inc oil&filter, fuel filter, air filter, plugs & leads & rotorarm etc. - basically ALL the consumable items - usually cures random glitches like that. If it doesn't, then you have a MUCH reduced list of things to look at !

Contact points or coil. Or wires that go between them.
