I was thinking there was 365 degrees in a year.

Thank you for correcting me.

Is it ? Or is it just 'offensive' to people who feel they need to share the burden of political correctness on behalf of other groups, as it is the case in the majority of cases.

It will start warning about then, yes, and the bleeps speed up as you get closer. Goes continuous on mine at about a foot. Quite brilliant.

Oh - it does work with hedges and chain link fences etc.

Not on the Bangle-chuck-up 730 I borrowed.

What a vile car BTW, inside and out.

Is your system an aftermarket one or did it come fitted, I love my gadgets and have been looking at the ones with full LCD displays. (Also been looking at a HUD system but they are all calibrated in KPH that I can find)

The BMW has a factory one, and the SD1 an aftermarket type - which has LEDs telling you were the obstruction is. But the novelty of that soon wore off - all you need is the bleep telling you when to stop.

In news: snipped-for-privacy@argonet.co.uk, Dave Plowman decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

With the PDC on my 540i, if you waited the the bleep, it was normally the sound of smashing plastic that informed you the radar sensors were f**ked again...

Ah well, from a 540i to a Capri.. at least I don't need a laptop to fix this one.

Nope, I know a few people who would find it personally offensive... my son for one.

Think we're at cross purposes here. A sideways glance isn't the same thing as looking over your shoulder - which is generally meant to looking directly behind you.

BTW, modern door mirrors with multi-curves are designed to remove that blind spot which exists with 'flat' ones on some cars.

FWIW, if you're saying no one should drive a vehicle with blind spots whether caused by them not looking over their shoulder or not having suitable mirrors would rule out the use of many 'exotic' and not so exotic mid/rear engined sports cars.

So my driving instructor taught me to be an accident waiting to happen, I was taught to give a "safety check" over the shoulder when changing lanes on a dual carriageway", and also when passing the exit immediatley prior to were I would be leaving to check for people joining behind me.
