That was my recollection other than the golden rule of the TDI 90 only has silver.

I could well be wrong, and wouldn't want to out-geek anyone on these matters, especially as I'm far from an expert on 4-pot VAG TDI ownership (or much else for that matter), but didn't the 115bhp PD engines just basically replace the outgoing 110bhp old-skool TDIs, and therefore take over the red I (but silver T and D) badges from that?
Nope... when I was looking into getting another Mk4 Golf / Bora, I saw quite a few on forecourts with the red D and I.
My mate has a 115 estate and that's the same, as was X plate 115 estate I had last year.
And then there's the later 100bhp PD one...
