Ping Pete M - rental rates

If you had a 1997 ALPINA B10 V8 in your rental stock how much would you charge?

Trying to put a value on my "intangible" losses due to being deprived of my car...

Been offered a 1.6 via Enterprise - at least they're taking the blame I guess.

Grrrrr...

Meganes were mentioned...

Norwich Union[1] put an outfit called CCL UK on to me to say that they had been asked to organise getting me an Enterprise hire car with hand controls fitted, "1.6 class"

Had a nice chat with the helpful chap who agreed that a 1.6 Mondeo was not a reasonable substitute for my B10 adding "it wouldn't even be a Mondeo, more like a Golf or Megane". I pointed out that I needed a biggish car to get my wheelchair in across my lap.

Since it was too late to get a car to me today anyway he said he'd chase up N.U. and pass on my feeling that they should be offering me a 545i, E430 or the like...

I wonder what tomorrow will bring. :)

A [1] I chewed on them earlier...

In news: snipped-for-privacy@film.fluffy, Alistair J Murray decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

I'd guess at around £130 a day.

I suspect you'll have a hard time, unless the car is used for business purposes.

Indeed.

Ring helphire and they'll get you another B10 or an M something. They make the other side give you a matching / similar hire car. Assuming it's a non-fault for you.

I'll give 'em a go, other side has already admitted fault - well worth risking a tenner...

Cheers :)
