Manual Boost Controller AKA Bleed Valve
A manual boost controller is NOT a bleed valve, they are totally seperate things. Do not confuse the two.

Do you not manualy control the boost via the device and does it not operate by bleeding pressure away from the wastegate actuator? Agreed its not a Dawes Device or an EBC.
It doesn't matter. It is still bypassing the knock and boost control of the APC, that allows it to run on anything from Swampgas to Optimax, without knocking, and still provide reasonable boost.
I get most of the boost available with Super unleaded, running 95 ron, without knocking, and only running slightly warmer.
Was referring to EBCs that use a solenoid to control boost pressure. Typically these are used to replace the stock ECU controlled solenoid that some engines have - often called an amal valve.
But Their Electronic BC's not Manual BC's LOL ;-)
Don't suppose you've got a spare APC solenoid have you :-( Mine's fallen off somewhere. I knew there was something I forgot to tighten after I finished putting the rad back on

If I may be so bold, Wanker!!.
The APC system uses all of the boost thats safe all of the time, the only reason my 900 doesn't lunch all 4 pistons in seconds when on boost is cause the APC is adjusting the boost pressure 12 times a second to avoid detonation/Pre-ignition.
The APC is a wonderful system that was way, way, way ahead of its time (remember its 21 years old). A well set up APC will give better boost control than any modern MBC/EBC. Couple it with the Saab DI system and you've got a system thats adjusting boost every 10th of a second and timing on a per cylinder per firing basis. In short Saab really are the Daddy's of Turbo's LOL.
Matt
your cars as old as me hehe not like that's bad, hey makes me MR2 look young :)
No the APC system was developed 21 years ago, my cars only 14, hold on I see where your coming from now.....
And in other news **-** is quoted as saying:
How old is your front bumper and wings tho? ;)
Bumper and wings all of 3 months ;-) Lights 5 months (they survived the Ferrari incident) lost count of how many bonnets and front panels its had.
