Something caught my eye today...

Driving through Hawick after going to look at an aged and rusty Mk II escort, I spotted...

A Mercedes SLR.

Partly silver, mostly black, parked outside my favourite sweet shop with the door open and Kirk Turnbull of QFX leaning in to talk to the driver. SK53 registered, 'prototype vehicle' in white lettering on the bootlid. Stopped the Supra and got out, but no camera. Sounded absolutely fantastic driving off, though.

Lost your sig and can't remember what cars you own? Just look out onto the drive and tell us what is there! You are right about the SLR noise though - saw it at the 2001 United States GP with Mario Andretti at the wheel for a couple of laps.....beats a Citroen flat-twin any day!

Eh ?

What relevence does that have ?

Lordy could drive a 750cc Fiat Panda - and it would have no bearing whatsoever on the goodness of ANY other car.

I was followed by one up the M1 last year on the weekend of the GP, was camoed as well defiantly interesting.

I photocopied the schematics for the cooling system when I worked for Xerox! My claim to automotive fame.

From TV reports, that thing sounds like a dragster!
