What car post

I had thought Capri, and the 24v conversion came to mind, but not convinced it's what I want. Maybe I need a go in one. Don't want the plain 12v, £6k is crazy money for what it is IMHO.

I've got a few things to tie up, so I wont be buying anything just yet.

If I wanted a '5 I reckon i could get a SC one for a very good price, which also has plenty of go-faster bits. If I decide I wanna spend a bit less this is probably what I'd go for, but it just seems a bit too 'normal' IYSWIM. I want something a bit mental.

Good shout, but I can see that losing too much money. Plus I guess it's in the uber expensive tax bracket, which isn't the end of the world, but if possible I'd like to avoid it by going for something older. Willd efinitely look into it though

I added in 'number 4' to exclude these ;)

I'd love one, but I'd also need more garage space to store it, and chances are the Vitesse will be tucked away in my wee single garage. I will save one of these for later in life

V8 MX-5? I'd love to try one.

Re: Clio V6, I believe Dan was of the opinion that a 2.0 16V one of the

172, 182 or 197 variety is at least as quick, more fun and much less expensive to break (not that you plan to break it of course).

Crazyness is a factor though of course. Clio V6 fulfills that one a goodly bit.

Exactly. Hot hatches just aren't crazy enough for this idea

What do LS1 converted RX7s go for? I've always thought they look stonking...

A YB Turbo'd Capri would be a laugh.

How about this? I'm half tempted myself...

What sort of problems do the numpties cause? I can only think of delaminating ceramic turbine wheels from too much boost.

I like the sound of that. It seems freshly imported unmolested ones are around £6k, so bang on budget.

That's quite cool, but maybe not silly enough - it's just a Sierra afterall. Anyway, I'm not buying now, it'll probably be early next year unless something very special comes up in the meantime.

How about a Volvo 340/360 with cut springs and lowering blocks, with a=20

2.3 turbo?

Meh, maybe one day, but they've become a bit chavtastic now.

Besides it's not exactly a Chimaera :)

YKIMS.

There's a C43 on there too, but it's a bit dear.

I'm thinking that this is so wrong, that it's actually quite right. Perfect for my warped sense in cars!!

I'd almost be tempted to go and see this as it's only an hour away. But I need to sort out my mortgage before I go and do something silly. Maybe I'll phone the bank tomorrow ;)

They will have been molested in Japan but the things are as tough as old boots.

No it isn't.

It will be much reliable, less likely to turn to splinters in a crash, and have the potential for far greater power without grenading ;)
