67 289 Valve Seals

Hey guys, been a long time since I've been been here. I decided to replace my valve seals, as I have no idea if they had ever been done, and I've had some blue smoke. Sure enough, two were completely disintegrated under the valve cover. Here's my question, my parts guy gave me Felpro seals, one kit for intake and one for exhaust. But when I removed the existing seals that were still intact, they were exactly the same. The new exhaust valve seals are much shorter than the intake ones. The intake ones are the same size and shape as the originals.

I've tried looking for any photos or references that these4 should in fact be different. Can anyone confirm? And, these exhaust ones do not completely cover the valve guide boss, like the others. Does that matter?

thanks! Bob

If the kit is for a 289 from Felpro, no problem. Seals have been changed and improved upon over the years.

MustangsUn****ed had photos of the same ones I had, so two confirmations good for me. Just buttoned up everything and what a difference. I wish I had done these years ago. I belive they were originals as they had the Ford markings on them. Now to pull the oil pan and clean all the crud out.

Bob
