My 73 Mach 1 has a front bumper (urethane) that is in pretty rough shape. Some cracks I think can be repaired by my local bodyshop. The bigger problem is the big ass piece of metal underneath the urethane. Lots of rust. Anyone have experience with these? can they be replaced? How the hell does the rubber come off the metal? Aftermarket appears nonexistent. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

I just removed the urethane bumper from the metal structure underneth recently. It was a royal pain! I suggest you use an impact wrench, but be careful not to strip out the giant phillips head bolts on the bottom. I got it but it wasn't easy. I have never seen an aftermarket "bumper core". nor have I seen one on ebay in the 5 years i've owned this 72 mach1. Just keep looking, maybe someone parting out a car will have one. Dave
