96 GT strut tower brace

I was recently given a C&L preformance air intake system. In order to get this on I'll have to remove the stock strut tower brace. What if any ill effects will this create? Any one know?

I would think it will make that strut flex more. I would come up with a different strut brace that will keep it from flexing.
