Week of May 21, 2007 The Army, faced with the Democratic Congress cutting funding for middle east operations recently opened Baghdad Palace Inns, a military, military wannabe, and military afraidtobe resort near the water with wide expanses of sand just right for tanning. Each Inn offers at least 120 rooms, two swimming pools, two outside cabanas, playgrounds and outside grills, indoor and out door shooting ranges with a wide range of weapons and ammo, as well as on site medical facilities. The Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command plans to expand the property over the next two years with additional rooms and conference facilities. Army projections are that visitors will help pay for the cost and assist in operations, while enjoying the facilities. No reservations are required by those individuals who are Active Duty, Retired, Reserve military, or DoD civilian as new Palace Inns are discovered nearly every week. For more information, visit the Baghdad Palace Inn website or telephone the Inn at
