--Ford had the least bad November 2008 of all the majors. Here's a textversion:

-30.5 =96 Ford =96 122,723 units sold

-31.6 =96 Honda =96 76,233

-33.9 =96 Toyota =96 130,307

-41.3 =96 GM =96 153,404

-42.4 =96 Nissan =96 46,605

-47.1 =96 Chrysler =96 85,260

Just keep these inconvenient truths in mind as all those newly-minted automotive experts on Capitol Hill lay into the Big 3 execs tomorrow. Evidently the geniuses at Toyota, Honda, and Nissan were unable to prevent greater erosion to their market share than the sleepy greedy morons at Ford. Also, notice that the sleepy greedy morons at GM were somehow able to move 23,000 more vehicles than the Toyota geniuses. Finally, notice that the ownership group which comes closest to the members of Congress in its expertise at running an automaker -- that would be the money boys at Cerberus Capital -- posted the worst decline of all, losing nearly one-half of Chrysler's volume year-to- year.
