Imagine the quad-cam, supercharged, 5.4-liter, 550-horsepower enginefrom the Ford GT supercar fitted between the frame rails of the newMustang. With this kind of heat under the hood, estimated performancewould likely be 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, and the 1/4 mile could bescorched in the high 11-second range. Then imagine this Shelby Mustangequipped with a beefed-up straight axle out back, in place of a IRS, tokeep the costs down. To keep the cost down...? Did we read thatright? Yep, it's _starting_ to sound like maybe Ford and Shelby havedecided to keep the next ultimate Mustang within reach of the commonman. Skeptical...? Well, consider the previous top-rung Mustang, theSVT Cobra, is on hiatus, so maybe the Shelby 'Stang will replace Cobrafrom it's throne. Not convinced? Well, the name Shelby Mustang Cobrais being tossed around. Also, consider the '03 and '04 TerminatorMustangs severely undercut the 2000 R and you have to wonder if maybethis new ultimate Mustang might be priced under $40Gs, and could weeven see mid 30s?At this point, it's a foregone conclusion that a Shelby Mustang iscoming. .. especially when Ford is now saying the Shelby'Stang's performance target is the 500-horsepower, 500 cubic-inch Viperand the new 7-liter, 550-horsepower Z06 Corvette. I just wish I could ever go. Busy, busy, busy. I did make it to the CES show this year and saw some pretty amazing auto customization in the area of electronics.

Just so happens I am also into bikes and while I don't like most of OCC's custom bikes, although Cody's Old School Chooper was way cool, this Shelby tribute bike is one that I would actually buy, well that is if I could afford $150,000 for a custom scoot. The only change I would have made is putting some yellow running lights frenched into the tank as eyes. Now that would have been cooler then cool.
