HVAC issues

I'm having some weird problems with the HVAC system in my 94 GT. No matter what setting I've got it in (max a/c, floor, mix) air is blown out of the floor and windshield vents. If I set it to off the system turns off but all other settings only blow from those vents. The a/c and heater still work though.

What's the deal here?

That's an easy one, you got a vacuum leak. Probably a line by the firewall. Small line, like 1/8 inch. Keep looking you'll find it . Another guy just had it a month ago. Same fix, I also had it. The flapper that directs the air is vacuum operated. Mine was burned in half by the heater core hoses.

95 GT had same problem

Is this line towards the top of the firewall? I already looked there and I couldn't find anything.

Is there a good way to try and find it? I was hoping it would be completely obvious because the vents aren't switching at all. Can you tell me which hose in particular?

Thanks in advance!

Ryan

It's either a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum lines or the header is no longer sealing on the back of the rotary vacuum switch that you turn.
