New M5 will eat Cobra for breakfast

Troll, Ford will sell the new Mustang for a third the price of the M5, which will allow new Mustang owners to reinvest that money into some nice after market products (can you say supercharger?) and a weekend get away for two down the coast.

I wish you could see the faces on the Beemer guys I blow off with my SVT Contour. I always try to ask them how much they paid for their pile of s*it. I destroyed a 850I with my 87 completely stock 5.0 LX. Yep, them cars are sure a threat.

What's Ford going to do about the M5? Easy, sell their potential customers affordable cars:)

For the price of a BMW M5, you can buy a Cobra convert. plus a Law's rocket to smoke the M5. And a lawyer for a week or two.

Nothing. They don't need to as they will still sell 20 times the number of Cobras as BMW will sell M5's and every Cobra owned by someon like myself or others in this group, will after a ferw editions whip that same M5 and still cost half as much.

Ok, first of all no BMW is a "pile of s*it", not even a 3 series. Second if you "destroyed" an 850 with a 100% stock 87 5.0 Mustang, I believe I would go back and make perfectly sure they knew you were racing or if they cared....

Considering base price on this thing is in the 80's, I don't think most Cobra drivers will worry a lot.

I have to admit however, the achievement of 100 hp per liter is quite an achievement. I wish Ford could do something close to that with the new Cobra in normally asp form. You never know. Only time will tell .. . . . . . . he he.

Be careful about what you wish for ...

F1 engines currently get close to 300 HP/L (3.0L V10s, 850-900 HP, peak RPM about 19,000). There is a price, in both extreme cost and reliability; Renault's website, for example, brags that their F1 engine is good for over 750KM -- about 470 miles.

nothing. You are comparing apples with oranges.. makes no sense at all. the amg and the m5 are proably twice as expensive. Not even close to the same market.
