Ping >> CobraJet/ others (generator--alternator conversion)

Just wandering if you have any experience with installing a Delco alternator (3 wire) in an early Ford (60's Galaxie) in place of the original generator.

The question I have is in regards to the charge light and the conversion. I have someone doing this conversion and have heard refference to installing a resistor in series to the charge light. Apparantly this would allow the alternator to continue charging in the event the light were to burn out.

Do you have any experience with this and know what ohmage/wattage this would require ?

I have tons of experience w/ the newer conversions (130 amp 3G) but nothing with the early stuff.

I haven't done this swap but here is some info I've bookmarked:

Here's the Gen to Alt wiring scheme.

This outlines a swap Alt to Alt using the M.A.D. kit that uses a diode for the warning light.
