Well i finally found someone that will change my gears out in my 98 GT, just wondering what excatly i need to get for the kit..anything in particuler to look for or anything special i should request since hes in that part..and whats the best gear oil to use.

The garage that will change your gear should have everything on hand that will be needed. (shims, seals, crush collar and bearings that require replacement). I use Mobil 1 gear oil with half a bottle of friction modifier. Basically any good quality synthetic will do a good job, Mobil is just a good value.
If you have that done under the shade of a tree, you might consider buying a kit from Ratech with the bearings and shims all in one nice package. Personally, I like to have more than one crush collar on hand in case I overdo the pignon nut...
Just remember that with gears, higher is better. Most people regret not putting a gear one numerical step higher than the one they installed...Enjoy...

look for or anything special i should request since hes in that part..and whats the best gear oil to use.
have the mechanic spray the entire assembly with a couple cans of K&N filter oil!, should be good for about a million miles.....LOL
seriously, you may want to put some new friction disc in the traction lock assembly, mobile 1, torco,redline,etc. synthetics are probably the best lubes to have in the rearend.
Yup! Nothing like synthetics in the rear end!
