well my '93 cobra is gone... :' ( .. the saga ends

yup.. the saga ends. The shipper came and loaded her and took her away. Half of me realizes this was a good move.. to pay off loans.. the other half of me is nearly crying inside at the thought of the car, which "I would never sell" going to its new owner. I know he will be good to it though.

I got myself into this; I bought a 75 Vette earlier this spring and said, I could probably sell the 'Stang to pay it off. After a month or two, the wife said.. nah, you can keep the 'Stang. That was before the Durango.. We bought a used Durango a month or so ago and are making payments. So, now it was really do or die. I could not end up swinging two payments. So I sold the one car I knew would sell the quickest.

Ok. Let the shooting begin...or flaming, whichever is more painfull. ; )

I did go to the Ford dealer to drool over new 03 Cobras and GTs 35-40k.. never will afford that ... plus, they had a 01, yellow, vert cobra for $25k

I had a 75 Vette ! it was a pretty fun car (although it was pretty creaky and noisy inside)..

In fact, I still have some parts from it... A saddle tan dashpad !

I swapped out my entire interior for a 78' silver anniversary one (what a JOB) and hung on to some of the old parts thinking I would sell them someday, or maybe get another Vette that I might need them for.

I sold off most of the othe parts over the years. I guess I should make an ebay run and get rid of the last of it..

You did what you had to do. If you want to correct this in a few years, here's my plan of attack:

  1. Ditch the '75 Vette. It's a '75 Corvette, 'nuff said.
  2. Trade in the Durangotang for a 2005 Mustang GT when they come out.

All will be well! ;)

On a more serious note, I've been there, and I know how tough it is.

It would be wise to have your financial affairs in order (read: debt-free) before you take on another, so that you will never, EVER again have to say goodbye to a car you love so much.
