93' 300zx ASCD speed control help

Isn't that the "cancel" switch right there with the "engage" switch?

Are you sure the brake and clutch switches still have the plastic bumpers on the pedals that push on them intact? That is what I normally find wrong. I have seen a couple of blown up switches but that's about it.

Actually the ASCD CANCEL SWITCH is located right next to the break pedal switch. What happened was one of the two terminal fingers was broken inside. Called dealer and they charge for $31 for a new switch. I think it is ridiculus for a simple switch. So I went to Home Depot and got a cheap soldering iron and some solders for $6. Took me 10 minutes to aligned the broken pieces right and soldered them together. I also soldered a sheet of copper on the broken finger as well as the good one to reenforce them so that they won't break easily...... See, college degree is not always useless :)

For future reference, you can enter diag mode by turn on curise control while holding down the set/resume handle. The indicator light will start brinking. Then you can go thru all the switches, including clutch and break. If the switch functions correctly, the light will brink faster for a very short period of time. If nothing happen or the light goes off, that is where the problem is at.
