'88 Pathfinder

Hello... Got a headlight problem/ question.. 1988 Pathfinder SE 3.0 Headlights work fine (on low beam), but when I turn on the highbeams (push the turn signal forward) the passenger side headlight goes out.. I have tried new bulbs ect, no luck.. any ideas? is there a problem maybe in the switch? Thanks for any help..!

Sounds like a switch problem to me... Do the tail lights go out too?

The switch is pretty easy to replace, but it is expensive. I had to replace mine and I think it was around $80 Canadian.

Check the headlight relays on the fender

I have an '88 Hardbody (basically the same as the 'Finder) and there is no relay in the headlamp circuits.

Sorry, I meant check the fuses on the fender, not the relays, I have a 94 Pathfinder and had the same headlight problem as BKOBLASTER and it ended up being one of the fuses. the fuses in my pathfinder are under a plastic cover on the inner right (Passenger) side fender.

Hello.. Actually the headlight switch itself was bad, so had to replace the entire turn signal assembly.. was very worn looking and old anyway.. lol works and looks great now.. Thanks again.. BR
