Hi folks..can anyone help me please, i need to replace the rear struts on my car but have found that although the inserts from aftermarket suppliers are reasonably priced, shops seem to want an arm and 2 legs to fit them, they tell me that the struts have to be sawed apart and then re-welded to affect the repair, this seems crazy to me, has anyone struck this before? the car is 88 bluebird SSS 1.8 XE II, chassis no. RU12113875, struts marked
5530355E10. BTW the dealer wants $650.00 plus tax each for the inserts..nearly as much as i paid for the whole car!! how do they justify these prices! Thanks in advance, Al.- posted
