I30 Windshield

It looks like the windshield was changed on my 2000 I30 (it doesn't say Nissan on it). On the outside bottom of the glass where the wiper arms are attached, there is a plastic cover with blow holes. This cover has a rubber seal which attaches to the windshield. It doesn't seem to be glued to glass. Should it be? What can I use to glue it?

Also, the plastic cover has two holes on the opposite sides of the windshield. I saw that other I30s have some kind of attachment pins going through those holes. Do I need to have them?

I had my windshield replaced in my Altima and that rubber "seal" along the plastic cover around the wiper area was basically just held in there by a small amount of friction. I took it out, cleaned, it, put some contact cement on the bottom half of the rubber (on the side facing the plastic, NOT the glass), and slid it carefully back in under the plastic. It hasn't moved since.

I am actually referring to the way the rubber attaches to the windshield. One end of it is attached to the plastic cover and the other is to the windshield. Right now, it's attached to the plastic cover which in turn is attached to the body with some plastic pins. So, the rubber just lies on the windshield. Should glue it to the windshield?
