I checked on Parkers and yes it seems a great buy, but if you look on Autotrader:

I was amazed at the difference between the two price guides. There's £1500 difference!

This is kind of... odd. You could always pop in to your local dealer and ask him if he could look it up in Glass's Guide.

Of course, as someone said, history is important. If you know it's been motorway cruised at 70 for most of those miles, it could be a really excellent car. If it was driven through city traffic for the same miles, it'll probably be stuffed. Why don't you show the autotrader valuation (but not the parker's one!) to your friend? The price can only come down!
