what keyless remote to get for 01 Pathfinder

Hello,



I need to purchase a replacement keyless remote for my 2001 Pathfinder. My dealer won't tell me the FCC ID that I need, most likely because they want me to buy it from them for $120 + $40 programming instead of for $15 on Ebay.



My Pathfinder was manufactured in April 2000, and from one website I found it appears Pathfinders manufactured before August 2000 use one model remote and those after use another. The best I can figure is I want FCC ID: KBRASTU10 or KBRASTU09 but there are two models, A and



01A, and I don't know which I need.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I did a google search for '2001 nissan pathfinder keyless remote' and one of the resulting links to

formatting link
(url too long) showed one part number for 'Remote Control Key FOB - 2000-2001 Pathfinder($99.25). A link from there shows programming instructions. The ones for my 2001 (mfr 10/00) are Model A FCC ID: KBRASTU10 (fortunately it came with 2 when purchased used).

I don't think a PF manufactured in April 2000 would be an '01.

And careful about using the date on the door jamb -- I think that's the date they started using the sticker. You need to decipher the VIN, or maybe it's somewhere else,

The sticker on driver door jamb is specifically printed for the vehicle with "Manufactured by" and includes VIN, so I would assume "Date" on it refers to manufacture date. I do not know when they started manufacturing

2001 Pathfinder with new more powerful 3.5L (since I bought mine used), but I actually purchased my newly introduced 1995 Maxima SE 5-spd in May 1994, so it is quite possible that the 2001 Pathfinder was introduced early.

I am no authority, I just pointed out that one internet Nissan dealer listed same remote key fob for 2000-2001. It is possible that any change was insignificant (or an update), so the most recent one would probably work.
