Hey,

Well, i was driving around about a week ago and opened the sunroof, well, the sunroof opened just fine, but the problem is that it wont close. Where can i get myself a new sunroof switch. or do i have to get the whole unit with the map lights built in, either way, i gotta get it fixed!!!!! Help out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your jack toolkit should contain a sunroof crank. If I remember right, there's some kind of plastic cover near the switch (it's probably documented in your owner's manual). If you remove it you'll see where you're supposed to insert the crank. At least you'll be able to close it until you figure out what you want to do. It's pretty hard to diagnose your problem over the net -- could be the switch, motor, wiring or simply jammed.

bro,

its definately the switch. I went through and tested it, if i take the switch out and put a screw driver to it the motor works and it closes just fine. I just need a new switch

Junkyard item. Take a small test meter with you so you can test it on the spot. Bob

closes just

If i were to do this do i have to make sure its an 87 or would a switch for a 86 or 89 or 90 work?

Just a guess, but I would think switch is the same for all years in your generation Max.

89 was the beginning of a new generation -- your gen was 85 thru 88. Good luck. Bob 95 SE Auto 89 SE Auto traded

Try............Call them, ask for Keleb, nice young man, knows a lot about early MAX's
