An addition to my previous post -
When driving in reverse, I hear a "humming" mechanical sound from the rear (almost like am electric motor). When I go forward, there is a metallic scraping sound, almost like I am dragging something (yes, I checked). I thought that when the brake pads (rear) go that I would only hear this sound when I brake. Question - can one differentiate from worn brake pads and the sound when a rear bearing is starting to go. Also, I recently was on a car ferry and had to yank pretty hard on the hand brake. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
