window wont go up !

have 95 gxe maxipad --- with the sun beating down on a hot FL day ,, wentt to open windows to let some (not so cool ) air in to replace some of the greenhouse air in the cockpit/cabin.

the rear window went down and then upon going up made funny noise and didnt take it up past about a few inches from the top .. and then it appears like the motor or mechanism has become dislodged such that there is no response nor holding power.

i was hopeful that the 4th gen maxi was up to snuf ... guess it cant' take the heat ?

probably has a broken window regulator

That's not possible. I've never heard of the regulator breaking. It's the most reliable part on that car, just ahead of the Bose amps and the plastic gear on the antenna.

Ii dont know what the hell the regulator is but it sounds like a crock ...

no this is like a physical connection of like the cable thing that connects to the window holder base.. i havent actually taken apart yet but that is the description of what it prolly is ..

just the thing wear and tear .. i guess if u dont use it gets stuck and seazed ( damned if you dont ) if u use it , it wears out ( damned if you do) ... catch 22 .. too bad for you ....

I guess you missed the sarcasm and/or don't come here often. Nisstech is dead right, it is almost certainly the window regulator unit. They are famous for doing exactly what you described.

And this part is called the "Window Regulator Unit".

Check this link out for what we're talking about.
