106 front brake is a bind

this has cost, so far, in the region of £250. . . and cost the garage about the same again since they cant find the problem..my wife travels about 2 miles in the morning before the front o/s brake not only binds on, but stops the car and has to stop, cool down for 15 mins then still binds slightly until about 2 miles later at the end of the journey...the garage has replaced the discs and pads : the caliper : the drive shaft : the bearings : a caliper spring :

the last thing was the spring and the car was fine for about a week..

the car isnt worth what is being replaced so a simple solution would be very much appreciated.

cheers

THE BRACKET THAT THE PADS FIT INTO ARE NOT RETURNING THATS THE PROBLEM. HAD IT ON A VOLVO AT THE WEEK END. HAD TO REMOVE ALL THE BITS AND CLEAN IT ALL . THEN IT WORKED VERY WELL. CHRIS ADDLESTONE..

How about the brake flexible hose? They can deteriorate inside and stop the fluid from returning after a brake application. Sort of like a one way valve.

Simplistically I would suggest the master cylinder. Binding on only one wheel is odd. Is there a splitter system for security? (ie RL+FR and RR+FL)

garage replaced both brake hoses and the car has ran well for 4 days now....he also stripped out and refitted the footbrake mechanism...so it lookes like one of these has done the trick

thanks all.
