I have a problem with my 1998 406 1.8 lx. I get a crunch when changing from first to second gear after about 3000rpm. This problem also happens when I change down to second above 3000rpm. I have spoken to a mechanic and he sais that some bits probably need to be changed in the gearbox. I hope there is a less expensive way to sort this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
