Does anyone know if the standard 307SW audio (Clarion RD3 and Blaupunkt 5 cd changer) play MP3 cd's? And if not, what is the best way to add this functionality?

nope, you can get a sony mp3 player with a lead to the RD3 (sorry i lost the URL of the company that makes it)
but its easier to get a aftermarket radio much better then the rd3
