1992 sunbird replace head and h20 pump

This is certainly not going to be like "building a chevy motor". It's a hard question to answer....hard as compared to what? If you are going to do the head gasket and water pump, you might as well install a new timing belt (as it drives the water pump). You need new head bolts when replacing the head gasket, and you will need some method to torque/turn the head bolts. You will find that you use anaerobic gasket sealer for the cam carrier to cylinder head surface. Make sure that you replace all of the o-ring seals that you find, ie: frt water manifold to cyl head, dipstick tube to block, dist to cam carrier..etc.

I always found it easier on this engine to remove the exhaust manifold completely, but remove the intake manifold nuts and leave the intake manifold in the vehicle. There is too much stuff attached to intake manifold to make it worthwhile attempting to disconnect it all in order to get the intake manifold out of the vehicle.
