1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP - rough riding front end

I have been having a worstening problem with the front end on my 99 GP. The car runs like a dream except the front wheels feel like they are made out of cement. every bump I hit is magnified by a factor of 10. There is a lot more road noise than usual. The car is not out of alignment it drives straight as an arrow. The front suspension just feels unusually harsh. What should I be checking??



But one note last year I replaced the factory Goodyears with Dunlop Z rated tires I definately noticed more road noise them but not the load boom I get when I now run over a pothole.

Bushings wearing out? Check into Polyurethane bushings. Expensive compared to rubber but worth it.

I replaced the rubber bushings with Poly 20-30K miles ago. I think that it might be the struts.

How old (miles) are the strut shocks? By 60k miles they are pretty worn and should be replaced. I will be doing mine next weekend in the driveway (if warm and not raining).

60K - Struts are probably shot. Mine were $75 each for Monroe Gas-O-Matics. If your's come out the top without removing the strut then they are easy. If not, then it is a bit harder because you will have to remove the spring.
