2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Blower not working

I've been plagued with a blower problem with this car. Several years ago, I replaced the blower resister due to one speed not working. A year or so later, same problem...and again and again. Each time I replaced the blower module, there has been a new design module. This latest round is causing me problems. Last year when I replaced the module due to the second speed not working, the replacement instantly worked. Months later, different speeds began flaking but eventually worked. This spring, all speeds, including high, mysterioulsy quit working. Playing around with the speed control, I eventually got it working again. What I did notice on this round is that when my blower does not work, my AC and rear defroster also does not work. When selecting high speed or putting the switch in the off position, I can hear a clicking like something being shut off.

Today I replaced the module again. After the module was installed, I expected everything to work....NADA. No blower, A/C, or Rear Defroster. I got on the phone with my parts store to see if they again had defference revs of the module. While I was speaking to him and playing with the blower switch, everything began working.

Does anyone have an idea of what can be going on? Has GM had a recall on these module that maybe another piece of equipment also needs to be replaced?

stumped....-jf
