2001 Grand Prix Clock Problem

May 09, 2004 3 Replies

I need some advice on a problem that my Girlfriend's Grand Prix has developed. Yesterday the Clock display went out. You can still very faintly see the numbers, but the illuminated display is not working.

Please advise on possible problems and likely remedies. Do I need to replace the whole clock?

Thank You in advance,

Matthew Brown Memphis

I have been having the same problem with my 02 Grand Prix. I usually tap the display with my finger and it comes back on.

i had the same problem with the odometer on my sunfire. Took the cluster apart and the bulb was blown, gm doesn't carry the bulb, said i needed the full cluster, so i went to radio shack, bought a same bulb, and soldered it to the pcb, works perfect, i assume its the same problem with yours, i could see my odometer if i had direct sunlight on it, but that was it

Welcome to the world of poor GM engineering. Good advice from the previous replier, if you are mechanically inclined. Otherwise you are hosed.
