well here is the problem i have a 1995 sunfire ,i can run the car for some time ,but when i go on 401 for a short time then i come off to the stop sign it will stall,(i know just dont go on the 401 then lol) is like the motor is run out of gas.then a few mins later will start, now after saying this it is getting that it is doing it in town .got a code 72 crank positon sensor curcut problem is it in the sensor it self or in the wiring,i also read that a bad tcc could cause this problem, just unhook it.and also is there a parts place on linre that has a better price than 130 to 140 for ckp, thanks to all that reply to this and have a good day .

Replace the crank sensor. The plastic case on the sensor cracks. The symptoms you describe are common to that problem.
I too have the same car and am going through the same thing (I dont know what a 401 is but I assume its a type of higher speed/few stops road). I stalled at a dangerous spot and went a little mad in trying to get the car to go. As it would start fine and stall only when in drive I put a foot on the brake and a foot on the gas, and got it to go albeit I heard a nasty bang when I rammed it into drive and it kicked in. My car is at the end of its life for other reasons then this so I'd rather be saving for its replacement then new parts so I wonder is there anyway to rule out a bad toque converter vs a bad crank sensor?
