I'm just wondering, I've driven them both. Last one driven was the Gtp and that one had suprised me...Alot. They're both very fast. So what is your opinion . Thanks for your thought's.

Gee, let me see. The 3800 Series II Supercharged pushes around 240 horses, while the Vette's 5.7 pushes 345...I think we have a winner.

Just maybe the '01 was modified.........

Oh, that's definitely true. You can mod the Series II 3800 quite a bit. I have a Bonnie with that engine, and even stock it will stick you to the back of your seat. However, if the Grand Prix and the Vette were both stock, I doubt the GP would give the Vette much of a race.

Agree.....

But that is a cool video.......

That it is. I have always liked the GP's.

The Corvette..a lot faster. My old 69 383 Ply Roadrunner would blow the doors off the SuperCharged grand prix.

The caption in the video says mod.

Yeah I seriously doubt an unmodified 3.8 could blow the doors off any 5.7 litre.

Well, I have a GTP, and have raced a few vettes. In stock condition, the GTP unmodified and a 80-90's version corvette with 5.7 liter manual trans, is a tossup. He had more torque, but I had more top end. From a dead stop he would get me, cause I couldnt get the front wheel drive to grab, but from a rolling start I would get him. Now my car has new exhaust from SLP, new hi-ratio rockers, new air induction, smaller supercharger pulley, colder plugs, different thermostat, and reprogrammed computer. I'll go after the new vettes now, unless it's a Z06. Concerning the old Road-runner.I lived in that day, and those cars, while deemd a muscle car, really werent that fast. Sorry. The 383 versions, could easily be beat by most cars of the day, including the 340 duster/demon of the Mopar clan. They ran in low 15's from the factory, A stock GTP will be around 14.5, 14.6. Now, if the Roadrunner was the 440-4, 440-6, or 426 hemi.. it would be a different race. Also remember the Roadrunners/Superbees were not small cars, and carried a lot of weight. Now, if you take a 86-87 Buick Turbo Regal, which is the same basic 3.8 litre V6, but with intercooled turbocharger, instead of the GTP Supercharger, and then add the rear wheel drive the Regal had.. you had a car from the factory that could beat all the above easily, except the new z06. Those cars could move, and with some xtra boost, and trans mods, you are talking a car that can get into the 12's without much of a problem.
