I've wanted a 911 Porsche since I was 13, and I finally got it.
Over all I LOVE this car. The handling is sharp with out being harsh. With the top up there's little wind noise, and when down there's little buffeting. I've had zero mechanical problems.
A few down points: I have the leather power seats. If the weather hadn't be so miserable I'd have turned around and returned it the day I picked it up because the seat hurt my lower back so bad. Instead I stopped at a craft store and picked up
1.5 inches of chair foam and a nice fabric, and now I have no complaints even on long drives.
I don't much like the instrument layout. The analog speed-o is useless. and the two outer dials are invisible when my hands are in normal driving position.
It's ridicules that to order the car I had to go page-by-page thru a inch thick pile of paper checking things off. It's 2006. why isn't this online? I also suspect it's why my car showed up it some interior parts with the wrong finish. Unacceptable for a $100k+ auto!
Maybe the Tiptronic 5-speed works ok with a different engine, but in this car it REALLY needs a sixth gear! Also, in auto mode the trany tends to "hunt" way to much on hilly terrain.
With that said, would I buy it again? YOU BET!!!
