Adding 911 spoiler

There was a "wail tail" style and a "tea tray" style, they differed slightly from each other. If you're in So. Cal (The L.A. area specifically) I can give you the name of a very reliable, trust-worthy shop that can sell and even install the tail, or at least provide an estimate.

A used Turbo tail or "whale tail" should cost ~$500. Check your local Porsche club for sources. PCA. Rennlist. fleaBay also. New, they are closer to $1000. It is important to add the front spoiler to do it right. I also *highly* recommend buying another decklid to facilitate the ability to switch back quickly if you don't like it. I dunno 'bout you, but drilling holes in the original decklid would be painful for me. Many times, you can find a used tail/lid combo and I recommend buying that. This makes it a much easier job. I believe the "tea tray" is the same spoiler as the "whale tail." Just a different name in different places, but it's the Carrera spoiler that Steve was indicating. The Carrera spoiler does not have the extra side lips for a slightly different look, is a bit more streamlined, and provides less downforce. They cost a few hundred more as they seem to be more of the desired look amoungst the more streamlined 911s. You really must have the pronounced "hips" on a 911 for the Turbo tail to complete it's look. I had a turbo tail on my 79 for a while. Sometimes I thought it was the bitchinest thing, and then sometimes I thought it was an abomination. I guess it depended on how fast I wanted to drive that day.
