Dave, you dont say what you have, pls specify model/year.
but off the bat I'd say check the relays and fuses first, I seem to remember someone on my group saying they had this before can't remember the fix
also check the cabling in the motors and make sure no looses conns or earths
holla back if you need to and dont worry about tossers who give stupid replies, like the obvious '11 mentally challaged owner who replied earlier

Definitely look at these. It was a relay when this happened in my 928. Prized the cover off and soldered back a broken connection.
Hardly, as its got six cylinders. It's OK, halfwits like you always get the 911 mixed up with the 912 configuation. Maybe it's because you've never owned one and never will.
